These three images above, are to give you an insight into the development of the illustration. As you can see, the first of the three images is very simple and doesn't represent much literally - it's more of an abstract idea than a literal representation of the information that was included in my article.
Below is what my mock-up finished article layout looks like. I looked at the layout of the original newspaper that was printed with the article included and tried to recreate it using the same photos and headlines. I used placeholder text for the articles surrounding mine just to give a feel of what the columns of text look like.
